This month marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of WorshipHouse Media, which we launched in October of 2005. When we launched Igniter in 2003, there was a very small handful of content creators for churches, but by 2005, it had quickly increased to around 30 or so. The amount of quality media was on the rise, but getting that content was becoming more complicated as well. We decided to see if we could partner with as many of these content creators as we could and create a "one-stop-shop" for churches. Our original six product categories were mini movies, countdowns, loops, stills, software, and editable (don’t ask). Some of the first producers to join were Worship Films, Eleven 72, Highway Video, and Floodgate Productions. Within 5 years or so, the number of producers grew to around 200.
WorshipHouse grew year-after-year, and we loved every minute of it. Around 2007, we started conversations with Rick Killingsworth and others over at Salem Web Network. They were growing their business and interested in acquiring companies that aligned with their vision for serving the church. They were interested in serving the local church in a way that God was allowing us to do. By the end of 2010, we had finally landed on the idea of selling WorshipHouse Media to them. They could grow it in ways we couldn’t, and it allowed us to refocus on our core of creating content. In February of 2011, the deal was done, and four years after the sale, we are happy to say that WorshipHouse is still thriving and providing creative content for churches worldwide. We are thankful for Andrew Pino, Luke Miller, and the rest of the team they have that continue to lead WorshipHouse well.
Happy 10 year anniversary, WorshipHouse! We pray God continues to use WorshipHouse as a vessel to declare the Good News, the hope we have in Christ Jesus!
